If for any reason this contract is not a contest, all clauses of this contract except clauses 1-5 inclusive have no effect. 3) Any person CAN become a member of this contract by announcement. A "contestant", for the purpose of this contract, is a person who is party to this contract, but not its contestmaster. 4) The contestmaster of this contract CAN be changed without three objections. 5) The contestmaster CAN amend this contract without member objection. If this contract does not have a contestmaster, instead any party to it CAN amend it without member objection. 6) For the purpose of this contest, a puzzle is a body of text clearly identified as such, accompanied by its correct answer, and either sent privately to the contestmaster by a contestant (hereafter its author) who has not previously submitted a puzzle during the same week, or submitted by the contestmaster in a private message to emself (the contestmaster can only submit one puzzle per week this way). The author of a puzzle SHALL NOT disclose its answer to any other contestant (other than contestants which share a basis member with the author), nor to any non-contestant player of Agora, until after its answer submission period ends. 7) For the purpose of this contest, an eligible answer is a correct answer to a puzzle sent privately to the contestmaster by a contestant whose basis is disjoint from its author's basis, during that puzzle's answer submission period (which begins when the contestmaster publishes it and ends one week later), and for which that contestant did not attempt to submit another answer for that puzzle later in the answer submission period. (Eligibility is evaluated instantaneously, so an answer which is eligible can become ineligible if another answer is later submitted for that puzzle by the same contestant.) 8) The correctness of a given answer is left to the contestmaster's discretion. In particular, if the contestmaster believes that a puzzle cannot reasonably be answered correctly without having its correct answer disclosed by the author, then e may treat all non-author answers as incorrect. In addition, if the contestmaster believes a puzzle is sufficiently trivial to not be interesting, than e may award points (and Clues, if appropriate) as if all non-author answers were incorrect. Also, if a puzzle obviously only has a small range of possible answers (for instance, if it is a true or false question), the contestmaster may and SHOULD treat an answer as incorrect unless its submitter gives extra reasoning to explain why that answer is correct. 9) As soon as possible after the end of each week, the contestmaster SHALL publish a list of all puzzles submitted during that week; this is not a requirement if the list is empty, but in such a case the contestmaster SHOULD nevertheless announce that there were no puzzles. 10) The answer submission period for a list of puzzles ends one week after it begins. As soon as possible after the end of a list's answer submission period, the contestmaster SHALL attempt to award points in the order stated below, except that no points are awarded for puzzles for which no eligible answers were submitted. For the purpose of this clause, contestanthood is measured at the end of the answer submission period. a) For each eligible answer, in order of submission, its author gains: - 5 x-points, if it was the first eligible answer on that puzzle, and the puzzle was the only one on its list; or - 4 x-points, if it was the first eligible answer on that puzzle, but there was more than one puzzle on that list; or - 3 x-points, if it was not the first eligible answer on that puzzle, but the puzzle was the only one on its list; or - 2 x-points, otherwise. As an exception to this, if more than 6 eligible answers are submitted on a puzzle, all point awards for that puzzle under this section are reduced by 1 x-point. b) For each puzzle, its author gains 11 y-points, minus 1 y-point for each eligible answer which was submitted on that puzzle; no y-points are awarded this way if this would result in a negative number of y-points being awarded, or if no eligible answers were submitted on that puzzle. If an attempt to award points this way would fail due to too many points being awarded, all such rewards are reduced by the same integral number of y-points, choosing the minimum integral number of y-points to reduce by such that all the awards in question succeed. 11) Enigma's contestmaster CAN and MAY create a Medal in its possession, if permitted by the rules and using the mechanisms specified in the rules. When doing so, the contestmaster must privately think of, or already have thought of, a Secret Answer, a string of characters, and SHALL publish its MD5 hash in the same message in which e creates the Medal. The Secret Answer must stay constant for as long as Enigma posesses a Medal, and ceases to exist when Enigma ceases to possess a Medal. The contestmaster SHALL NOT reveal the text of, or other information about, the Secret Answer, except as permitted to and/or required to by either the text of this Contract or by the Rules. This restriction specifically does not apply to contestants, who MAY share, keep secret, barter with, or do anything else with information about the Secret Answer they discover. A "Championship Puzzle" is a puzzle designated as such by the contestmaster whilst publishing it. Puzzles SHOULD be designated as Championship Puzzles if Enigma owns a Medal, and the contestmaster believes they are neither too easy nor too difficult. Within a week after the end of the answer submission period of a list of puzzles, for each contestant who submitted an eligible answer on a given Championship Puzzle, the contestmaster SHALL as soon as possible privately reveal to em either a Specific Clue or a Generic Clue, which is information about the Secret Answer which must be true, but MAY (but does not have to) be misleading. If that answer was the first eligible answer to be submitted on that puzzle, the contestmaster SHALL instead reveal to em both a Specific Clue and a Generic Clue. A Specific Clue is a clue that mostly reveals information about a localised part of the Secret Answer; a Generic Clue is a clue that mostly reveals information about the Secret Answer as a whole. When submitting answers for puzzles, contestants SHOULD specify whether they want a Specific Clue or a Generic Clue, and the contestmaster SHOULD honour this preference if possible; if a contestant does not specify a preference, the contestmaster SHOULD use a suitable method of randomisation (which need not be public) to decide whether to give a Specific or Generic clue, in the case where only one is given. All Specific Clues given due to answers on a given puzzle should be the same, and all Generic Clues given due to answers on a given puzzle should be the same. If at least one point is awarded by the contestmaster due to a Championship Puzzle authored by a contestant, the contestmaster SHALL reveal a Specific Clue and a Generic Clue to the author of that puzzle.   The contestmaster CAN and MAY transfer a medal from Enigma to the first contestant who publishes the Secret Answer, and SHALL do so if it is clearly labeled as the Secret Answer, or when it was pointed out that that contestant published the Secret Answer. Medals owned by Enigma CANNOT be transferred otherwise. When choosing a Secret Answer, the contestmaster SHOULD choose a Secret Answer unlikely to be published except in connection with this contest. Contestants SHOULD verify an attempt to publish the Secret Answer against the provided MD5 hash before publishing it, so as not to unduly give away information to other contestants. -------------------------------------- Fantasy Rules Contest + Notes The text of this contract is disputed. Summary - You can join the contract by announcement. Please join before attempting to make Offers or vote ISELL-- your only obligations are to uphold the terms of Offers you make. - You can deposit 4 assets per week for the standard rate; further deposits give you diminishing returns to prevent scams, but you can still get a good price for up to 10. - You can always withdraw assets for the standard rate. - You can intend to sell or buy assets, naming a price; this is known as an Offer, and other parties can fill the Offer by announcement. - ISELL works like SELL, but you can vote ISELL on dependent actions as well as decisions. III. Banking Every asset has a Rate in zorkmids, intially zero. The President's report includes a Rate List containing all nonzero Rates. IV. Withdrawal A person CAN withdraw an asset in the IBA's possession if e has at least its Rate in zorkmids.Withdrawing an asset is equivalent to acting on behalf of the IBA to transfer the asset to the withdrawer; after a person withdraws an asset, its Rate in zorkmids is destroyed in eir possession. V. Deposits A person CAN deposit an asset by transferring it to the IBA; e then gains the Effective Rate in zorkmids. The Effective Rate for a deposit is its Rate, multiplied by a value depending on the number of previous deposits made in the same week with the same Executor, and rounded to the nearest integer: prevrate 0-3 1.00 4-6 0.90 7-9 0.80 100.73 110.62 120.50 130.38 140.26 150.18 160.12 170.08 180.05 190.03 200.01 21- 0.00 VI. Offers An Offer is an entity with three fields: Selling: (a nonempty list of assets, actions, and/or obligations) For cost:(a nonempty list of assets, actions, and/or obligations) Repeats: (a nonnegative integer, or infinity; default 1) A person CAN create an Offer by announcement, thus becoming its offerer.A person CAN destroy an Offer for which e is the offerer by announcement. A party (the filler) generally CAN fill an Offer by announcement (and is authorized to act on behalf of the offerer for this purpose) if the offerer is a party.Filling an Offer is equivalent to performing the following procedure in order, with no other actions inserted between the start and end of the procedure; and notwithstanding the previous sentence, if the procedure would not be entirely successful, the Offer cannot be filled at all: - the filler acts on behalf of the offerer to transfer the assets in the 'Selling' field to the filler, and to take the actions in the 'Selling' field, and - the filler transfers the assets in the 'For cost' field to the offerer, and takes the actions in the 'For cost' field, and - the Offer's 'Repeats' field is decreased by one. The filler SHALL satisfy the obligations (if any) in the 'For cost' field; the offerer SHALL satisfy the obligations (if any) in the Selling' field. An Offer with zero Repeats CANNOT be filled.A non-pending Offer with zero Repeats is automatically destroyed. To intend to sell X for Y is to create an Offer with X as 'Selling' and Y as 'For cost'; to intend to buy X for Y is to create an Offer with X as 'For cost' and Y as 'Selling'; to intend to sell A*X for Y each is to create an Offer with X as 'Selling', Y as 'For cost', and A as 'Repeats'; etc. Examples: - I intend to sell a WRV for 8 zm. - I intend to sell 4 G# Credits for 2 zm each. - I intend buy a Land for 3 zm. - I intend to sell a WRV for a Land. VII. Selling Votes Voting ISELL(X) on a decision is equivalent to intending to sell a number of votes equal to your voting limit on that decision for X. Voting ISELL(X - A*Y) on a decision (A equals one if not specified) is equivalent to intending to sell A votes on that decision for X, and then voting A*Y. Examples: - ISELL(8 zm)- allow all of your votes to be  purchased as a block for 8 zm - ISELL(8 zm - AGAINST*8)- cast 8 AGAINST votes, which can be purchased  as a block for 8 zm - 8*ISELL(1 zm)- allow each of your votes to be purchased  separately for 1 zm each - 8*ISELL(1 zm - AGAINST)- cast 8 AGAINST votes, each of which can  be purchased separately for 1 zm When an Offer is filled that specifies a number of votes on a certain Agoran decision in the 'Selling' or 'For cost' field, the offerer or filler respectively - retracts enough (if any) of eir ballots on that decision that the following ballots are valid and do not exceed eir voting limit; - casts the specified number of ballots with the option specified by the other party; and - SHALL NOT retract these ballots. If this process is impossible, the Offer CANNOT be filled. Retractions of ballots caused by this process are performed in the order the ballots were originally submitted. VIII. Selling Support/Objection Opining ISELL(X) on an intent to perform a dependent action is equivalent to intending to sell an opinion on that action for X. Opining ISELL(X - Y) on an intent to perform a dependent action is equivalent to intending to sell an opinion on that action for X, and then opining Y. Examples: - ISELL(4 zm) - ISELL(4 zm - support) - ISELL(4 zm - object) When an Offer is filled that specifies an opinion on a certain dependent action in the 'Selling' or 'For cost' field, the offerer or filler respectively - withdraws all previous support or objection for that action, - supports or objects to that action, as specified by the other party, and - SHALL NOT withdraw that support or objection, or thereafter support or object to that action. This process also applies to contract-defined psuedo-dependent actions whose behavior differs from that of a dependent action only in the values of time limits, or not at all. IX. Selling Agreement When an Offer is filled that specifies agreement to certain terms in the 'Selling' or 'For cost' field, the offerer or filler respectively SHALL follow those terms. X. Motions A motion is an entity which acts identically to an Agoran decision, except that the requirement that the voting period last at least seven days is waived, and, by default: * the eligible voters are the parties to this contract, * each eligible voter's voting limit is one, * quorum is three, * the voting period lasts 72 hours, * the vote collector is the President, and * the vote collector SHALL resolve it as soon as possible after the voting period ends. Any party CAN initiate a Motion to Act, specifying a set of actions to be performed by this contract. For this motion, the adoption index is 2. If the option selected on a Motion to Act is ADOPTED, the vote collector CAN once act on behalf of this contract to perform those actions, and the Motion CANNOT be resolved unless the vote collector does so in the same message, immediately after resolving it. Submitting a Motion to Amend with a set of amendments to this contract is equivalent to submitting a Motion to Act specifying that this contract make those amendments to itself. XI. Changing the Rates A Rate List is a list of assets and associated Rates. To effect a Rate List is to set the Rate of each asset in the list to the specified value. The President CAN effect a Rate List without two objections in 48 hours.Any party CAN initiate a Motion to Effect, specifying a Rate List. For this motion, the adoption index is 1.If the option selected on a Motion to Effect is ADOPTED, the specified Rate List is effected. XII. Rates are Self-Ratifying One week after the publication of a Rate List purporting to be part of the President's report, the Rate List is effected unless, less than a week after its publication, any person publicly - challenged the Rate List's veracity, or - purported to effect a different Rate List. XIII. The IBA is a Partnership Parties to this contract SHALL collectively ensure it fulfills its legal obligations. If the Sentiment of this contract is ever not Legalistic, any person CAN flip it to Legalistic by announcement. If the Disclosure of this contract is ever not Public, any person CAN flip it to Public by announcement including its text and list of parties. XIV. Pending Offers A person is involved in an Offer if e is its offerer or filler.A pending Offer is an Offer whose effects impose an ongoing, future, or unsatisfied obligation on a person involved in it. If this contract is a contest, the SoA is its Contestmaster. 3. Any player CAN become party to this agreement by announcement. Parties to this agreement are known as Farmers. As soon as possible after a first-class player becomes party to this agreement for the first time the SoA CAN and SHALL create a Digit Ranch and three Water Rights Vouchers in their possession. Any Farmer CAN cease to be party to this agreement by announcement. Any Land or Crops in eir possession are destroyed. Any Farmer CAN cause another Farmer to cease to be a Farmer without objection. 4. Each type of Crop is a currency. There are eleven types of Crops, represented by the numbers 0 through 9 and X (10). The SoA is the recordkeeper of Crops. 5. A Farmer CAN spend, for each digit of a number's canonical decimal representation, either a Crop of the corresponding type or an X crop to Harvest that number, when permitted by this contract. A Farmer CANNOT Harvest a number if e does not possess the required Crops to spend. If a Farmer attempts to Harvest a number for which e does not possess the required amount of 0-9 crops but e does possess enough X crops to make up the shortfall, e uses X crops as needed for the Harvest unless e specifically announces that e does not do so. 6. A Farmer CANNOT Harvest a number unless e specifies exactly one of the following effects: a. During the voting period of a Proposal, a Farmer CAN once Harvest the ID number of that proposal. As soon as possible after doing so, the SoA CAN and SHALL award that Farmer 2 y-axis points if the proposal was Ordinary, or 4 x-axis points if it was Democratic. b. Within one week after an ID number is assigned to a CFJ, a Farmer CAN once Harvest the ID number of that CFJ. Upon doing so, two Water Rights Vouchers are created in that Farmer's possession c. Within one week after a new rule is added to the ruleset, a Farmer CAN once Harvest the ID number of that rule. As soon as possible after doing so, the SoA CAN and SHALL create a Land of a random type in that Farmer's possession. d. Within one week after an existing rule is amended (other than by mutation), a Farmer CAN once Harvest the ID number of that rule. As soon as possible after doing so, the SoA CAN and SHALL create 2 + floor(2*P) Crops of random types in that Farmer's possession, where P is the power of that rule. e. Within one week after a rule is repealed from the ruleset, a Farmer CAN once Harvest the ID number of that rule and specify another Farmer. As soon as possible after doing so the SoA CAN and SHALL destroy a random Land in the specified Farmer's possession. f. A Farmer CAN Harvest the number 1234567890 and specify another Farmer. As soon as possible after doing so the SoA CAN and SHALL select a random land owned by the specified Farmer and give it to the harvesting Farmer. g. Within one week after an existing rule is mutated (its power is changed), a Farmer CAN once Harvest the ID number of that rule, and harvest any other crop and specify the Seed of a Digit Ranch e owns.As soon as possible after doing so the SoA CAN and SHALL destroy a Digit Ranch of the specified Seed in that Farmer's possession, and create in that Farmer's possession a Digit Ranch with the Seed specified by the additional crop (if the additional crop was X, the Farmer when harvesting the crop MUST specify a crop other than X as the Seed). 7. Each type of Land is a class of assets. Ownership of Land is restricted to Farmers. The SoA is the recordkeeper of Land. 8. A Digit Ranch is a type of Land. Each Digit Ranch has exactly one Seed, which is an integer from 0 to 9 inclusive. The class of Digit Ranches with a particular Seed is a currency. When a Digit Ranch is created, its Seed is chosen randomly (unless explicitly required by this contract), and thereafter CANNOT be changed. At the beginning of each week, each Digit Ranch creates one Crop of the type corresponding to its Seed in the ownership of its owner. 9. A Mill is a type of Land. Each Mill has exactly one Operator, which is one of + (addition), - (subtraction), * (multiplication) and / (division). The class of Mills with a particular Operator is a currency. When a Mill is created, its Operator is chosen randomly, and thereafter CANNOT be changed. Once each week, for each mill e owned at the beginning of that week, a farmer CAN destroy two Crops e owns and specify the operator of that mill by announcement. E then forms a mathematical expression using the values of those two crops and the value of the Mill's Operator exactly once each, and e evaluates the expression over the finite field of integers modulo 11. If the result is a number, e gains one Crop of the corresponding type. 10. Water Rights Vouchers are a currency. The SoA is the recordkeeper of Water Rights Vouchers. 12. Once per week, a Farmer CAN attempt to purchase a new Land by announcing the type of Land e wishes to purchase. As soon as possible after such an announcement, if it is permitted for em to do so, the SoA CAN and SHALL revoke 3 Points from that Farmer and then create a Land of the specified type in that Farmer's possession. 13. As soon as possible after the beginning of each month, for each Farmer, the SoA CAN and SHALL destroy a number of Water Rights Vouchers in that Farmer's possession equal to the number of Digit Ranches that Farmer possesses. If the Farmer does not possess enough Water Rights Vouchers to meet this requirement, the SoA CAN and SHALL destroy a number of random Lands in that Farmer's possession equal to the difference. 14. This contract CAN be amended by any Farmer without three objections. 15. Creating proposals or CFJs for the clear and primary purpose of Harvesting the ID numbers assigned is a breach of this contract. 16. The Federal Subsidy is an integer value. If the Federal Subsidy is ever less than 3, it is set to 3. At the end of any week in which the AAA contract did not attempt to award points the Federal Subsidy is incremented by 1. At the end of any week in which the AAA contract attempted to award at least ten points the Federal Subsidy is decremented by 1. At the end of any week in which the AAA contract attempted to award at least 20 points the Federal Subsidy is decremented by an additional 1. At the end of any week in which one or more Players won Agora by accumulating points the Federal Subsidy is decreased by 3. Once each week, a first-class farmer who at the beginning of that week owned fewer lands than the Federal Subsidy CAN 'request subsidization' by announcement. As soon as possible after such an announcement the SoA CAN and SHALL create a random type of land and a Water Rights Voucher in the possession of that Farmer. 17. This is a public contract named "The People's Bank of Agora" (PBA). 2. Any person may join this contract by announcement. 3. Any party to this contract can leave it by announcement. Upon doing so all eir coins are transferred to the PBA. 4. Parties to this contract are known as Comrades. 5. Comrades shall ensure that the PBA obeys the rules of Agora to the maximum possible extent. 6. "With the support of The People" means "with 2 Comrade support and without 3 Comrade objections". 7. This contract can be amended with the support of The People. 8. Any Comrade can act on behalf of the PBA with the support of The People. 9. There is a currency called coins with a maximum fine amount of 100. 10. Coins can only be created, destroyed and transferred as specifically allowed by this contract. 11. The recordkeepor for coins is the Coinkeepor. 12. The Coinkeepor is the Perlnomic Partnership. 13. The Coinkeepor should publish a PBA report at least once each week including the current holdings of coins, the current exchange rates, and the assets the PBA currently possesses. 14. Text of the form "^N" where N is a number (e.g. ^34) means "N coins" unless such an interpretation could be ambiguous. 15. Any Comrade can make a non-fixed Agoran currency into an Eligible Currency with the support of The People. 16. Every Eligible Currency has an exchange rate, initially 10, which can be set with the support of The People. If any action, automatic or otherwise, would cause an Eligible Currency's exchange rate to go below 0, it instead becomes 0. 17. Every midnight (UTC) that the PBA had zero of a given Eligible Currency for the prior 24 hours, that currency's exchange rate goes up by 2. Every Monday midnight (UTC) that the PBA had a non-zero amount of a given Eligible Currency for the prior 24 hours, that currency's exchange rate goes down by 2. 18. An Comrade can transfer any amount of coins in eir possession to another Comrade by announcement. 19. An Comrade can destroy any amount of coins in eir possession by announcement. Upon doing so the same amount of coins are created in the possession of the PBA. 20. An Comrade can transfer one instance of an Eligible Currency to the PBA by announcement. Upon doing so the currency's exchange rate goes down by 1, then a number of coins equal to the exchange rate of that currency are created in the transferrer's possession. This is referred to as a "deposit". 21. An Comrade can destroy an amount of coins in eir possession equal to a specified Eligible Currency's exchange rate, as long as the PBA has at least one instance of that currency. Upon doing so one instance of the target currency is transferred from the PBA to the Comrade who destroyed the coins, then the target currency's exchange rate goes up by 1. This is referred to as a "withdrawal". 22. Destroying some currency for coins or vice-versa can be referred to as "exchanging". 23. An exchange that specifies the result (e.g. "this gives me 3 coins" or "this gives me 4VP") is ineffective if it does not actually result in what is claimed. Note that this clause explicitly does not effect text in [square brackets] or text of forms such as "I think this gives me X". -------------------------------------- The Small Partial Mousetrap + Parties * ais523 * ehird * Warrigal + Text This is a private contract, binding under the rules of Agora. ais523 SHOULD attempt to announce changes in its text and membership as they occur; however, this is not mandatory, especially as its membership may not always be trivial to determine. Any person CAN agree to this contract. The agreement need not be done by announcement; any action, in any nomic, which has the effect of agreeing to this contract is sufficient to constitute agreement to this contract, as long as such agreement is permitted by the rules (especially rule 101). ais523 CAN leave this contract by announcement. Other persons can leave this contract only if ais523 is not a party to it, in which case they can leave it by announcement. Parties to this contract SHALL vote FOR any Agoran decision on a proposal submitted by ais523 on public request from ais523 (so long as the request is made with sufficient notice to allow time to make that particular vote during the voting period). Parties to this contract SHALL retract ASAP any objections to a dependent action whose Executor is ais523 on public request from ais523, and not re-object (or object in the first place, if they had not previously objected to it) to dependent actions on which ais523 has made such a request. -------------------------------------- Three-Scroll Rodney + Parties * Quazie * comex * ais523 * allispaul * Yally * Siege + Text 1. The Contract The name of this public contract is 3-Scroll Rodney. Any player CAN join or leave this contract by announcement. Any party CAN amend this contract without member objection. When this contract directs to award points, the Dungeon Master SHALL do so at the next available opportunity; this responsibility is incumbent on the position, not the player holding it. The Dungeon Master CAN add an axis to this contract by announcement. Unless otherwise specified, all duties in this contract SHALL be performed in a timely manner. 2. The Dungeon Master The Dungeon Master is the party responsible for the maintenance of this contract. A player CAN, with 1 Party Consent, change the Dungeon Master. If this contract is a contest, any party CAN and SHALL, by announcement, flip the contestmaster of this contest to the Dungeon Master. The Dungeon Master is the recordkeepor for any and all assets for which this contract is the backing document. A Poor Sob is a party of this contract other than the Dungeon Master. 3. Contest Periods There is always an ongoing Contest Period. Ending a Contest Period starts a new one. A Contest Period CANNOT be ended except as specified in this contract. The Dungeon Master CAN, with 2 Party Consent, end the current Contest Period. The current Contest Period is ended when any of the following occur: - A player satisfies the Winning Condition of Championship - A player satisfies the Winning Condition of High Score while Agora is in overtime. - The Dungeon Master is changed. - The list of available varieties of Scrolls is changed. 4. Scrolls Scrolls are type of asset; they come in a number of varieties, each of which is a class of assets and a currency. Ownership of Scrolls is restricted to Poor Sobs. The Dungeon Master shall only create Scrolls as e is required to do. All Scrolls are destroyed at the end of each Contest Period. A single question mark, when used unambiguously, is synonymous with Scroll. Scrolls come in a number of varieties as defined elsewhere in this contract. At the beginning of a Contest Period, the Dungeon Master SHALL assign a Label to each variety, and e SHALL NOT reveal which variety has been assigned which Label except as required by this contract. The avaiable Labels are defined elsewhere in this contract. 5. Labels The available Labels are as follows. Any party CAN, with 2 party support, amend this list of Labels, provided that this does not cause this list to contain less Labels than there are varieties of Scroll:  - EMAG EHT NIW UOY  - NOMIC NOMIC NOMIC  - BIRTHDAY PARTY  - STAND TURN DANCE  - MAUD  - FISH KEYBOARD  - QUANTUM WALRUS  - VACATION IN CANADA  - STRAWBERRY FIELD  - A B NSCROLL  - LROAEM DLANB  - JUDGEMENT IS COME  - YOYO TWO A Label remains assigned to a variety of Scroll for the duration of the Contest Period in which it was assigned even if it is subsequently removed from this list. If this is the case, the Dungeon Master will publish in eir report which labels exist but are not defined in this section. 6. Reading Scrolls A Poor Sob (the reader) CAN, by announcement, read a Scroll e owns. E destroys the Scroll by reading it. Reading a Scroll produces an effect, depending on its variety. At the conclusion of the Agoran Week in which a Scroll was read, the Dungeon Master SHALL perform the actions specified by the varieties of scrolls read. E SHALL perform them in such a way that the reader knows what effects were triggered by any given Poor Sob, but not which particular Scroll caused any given effect in a given week. If e is directed to perform an action privately, e SHALL NOT reveal that it was performed publicly, otherwise e SHALL perform it publicly. If e performs multiple weeks' worth of actions at once due to lateness, e SHALL ensure that each week's actions are distinct and perform each week's actions sequentially. 7. Wave-Particle Duality Each variety of scroll has a Frequency. The total Frequencies of all varieties of scroll must equal exactly 1. When the Dungeon Master is required to create a Scroll and a variety is not specified for that Scroll, e shall create a Scroll of random variety with each variety's weight being determined by its Frequency. E SHALL not reveal the specific variety of Scroll created except by its Label. 8. Varieties of Scrolls The following varieties of Scrolls exist, and are distinguished by name: 1) Scroll of Championship - Frequency 0.001 if this contract has a Medal; 0 otherwise. When a Scroll of Championship is read, the Dungeon Master SHALL transfer this contract's Medal to the reader. If multiple Poor Sobs read Scrolls of Championship in the same week, the Dungeon Master SHALL transfer the Medal to the first Poor Sob to do so. 2) Scroll of Exile - Frequency 0.009 if this contract has a Medal; 0.01 otherwise. When a Scroll of Exile is read, the Dungeon Master SHALL act on the reader's behalf to cause em to leave this contract; e CANNOT subsequently join this contract until a full week has passed. 3) Scroll of Punishment - Frequency 0.05 When a Scroll of Punishment is read, the Dungeon Master CAN and SHALL act on the reader's behalf to create 2 Rests in the reader's possession. 4) Scroll of Identification - Frequency 0.10 When a Scroll of Identification is read, the Dungeon Master SHALL inform the reader of that fact and prompt em to choose one of eir Scrolls. The Dungeon Master SHALL inform the reader of the variety of that scroll. 5) Scroll of Polymorph - Frequency 0.05 When a Scroll of Shuffling is read, the Dungeon Master SHALL act on the reader's behalf to destroy a random number of Scrolls e owns, then create an equal number of Scrolls in that player's possession. 6) Scroll of Reality - Frequency 0.15 When a Scroll of Reality is read, the Dungeon Master SHALL award a random number from 1 to 5 x-points to the reader. 7) Scroll of Imagination - Frequency 0.15 When a Scroll of Imagination is read, the Dungeon Master SHALL award a random number from 1 to 5 y-points to the reader. 8) Scroll of Existentialism - Frequency 0.05 When a Scroll of Existentialism is read, the Dungeon Master SHALL, 3 times, perform the action that would be required if the reader had read a scroll of Reality. 9) Scroll of Superstition - Frequency 0.05 When a Scroll of Superstition is read, the Dungeon Master SHALL, 3 times, perform the action that would be required if the reader had read a scroll of Imagination.  10) Scroll of Hallucination - Frequency 0.15 When a Scroll of Hallucination is read, the Dungeon Master SHALL revoke a random number of 1 to 5 x-points from the reader.  11) Scroll of Concentration - Frequency 0.15 When a Scroll of Concentration is read, the Dungeon Master SHALL revoke a random number of 1 to 5 y-points from the reader.  12) Scroll of Item Destruction - Frequency 0.09 When a Scroll of Item Destruction is read, the Dungeon Master SHALL act on the reader's behalf to destroy a random number of Scrolls e owns. When this list is changed in any way, the Dungeon Master SHALL reassign Labels to all varieties of Scrolls. 9. Acquisition of Scrolls At the end of each Agoran week, the Dungeon Master SHALL award 2 Scrolls to each Poor Sob. When a new Contest Period begins, or when a player becomes a Poor Sob and e has not previously been a Poor Sob during the current Contest Period, the Dungeon Master SHALL award 5 Scrolls to that Poor Sob. The Dungeon Master SHALL award 2 Scrolls to each Poor Sob when this paragraph comes into effect, then e CAN and SHALL amend this contract by removing this paragraph.
